Claire... hmm....House of God? You live in a church or something? (Nvm, blabbering, ignore that front part) Okay, Wiccan girl here maybe doesn't have a right to say anything, but I thought your relationship with god shouldn't have anything to do with other people of your faith. I mean, even if other fellow Christians suck, doesn't mean god sucks.

I can sorta feel your pain... Catholic sch for 6 years, Christian sch for 4...the hymn singing was fun but everything else kinda sucked. could not understand why I was forced to attend mass even though the Theology scholar in me couldn't help but be rather fascinated by the whole ritual thing later on. But what exactly do you want to break free from? You want to be like a Solitary Christian? 'cos Christianity doesn't work that way you know... lotsa emphasis on community and family.

Oh the eternal life business. Interesting concept really. You know how Heaven is always portrayed as this land of eternal bliss and everything? Well, how do you know you're happy if you don't ever feel sadness? And if I'm not wrong, only Taoism and Christianity have this concept of eternal purgatory, ie Hell. (I haven't really studied the Hindu and Muslim religion, so I can't really comment on those. But I believe Christianity has some similarities with the Muslim religion.) Other religions I know of (Buddhism and Wicca) usually believe that our life on earth is Hell itself...something I remembered from Anna & The King:"Buddha says all life is suffering." The Hindu religion, I think, has similar beliefs. So far the only "religion" I know of that subscribes to the "there is only life and then death, no hell or heaven" is Satanism. Makes sense when you realise they believe the material world is our god and embracing the basest instincts of human nature is to achieve true enlightenment.
